TRILLION's self titled debut album was released on Epic Records in 1978.
TRILLION's second album, titled Clear Approach was released on The Epic label
in 1979.
The tours
included 52 cities.
TRILLION opened for or shared the bill with Heart, Styx,
TOTO,
Ian Hunter, Jeff Beck, The Starship, Rick Derringer
and many other
great acts.
Since the 80's
break up the band members went in different directions
doing many different
projects and on different labels.
In
2007, the 3 original members of TRILLION, Bill, Thom and Frank
felt that the
band's legacy had been cut short far before exploring its full potential,
and that there was much more uniquely compelling music to come from this combination
of slightly eccentric and adventerous players!
Thom Griffin, Frank
Barbalace, and Bill Wilkins recruited CJ Vanston on keyboards to begin
collaborating
on a couple of the new tunes. CJ has currently performed on both Golden Sun Beyond and In My Blood
Pat Leonard has also played on Golden Sun Beyond which has made the project that much more unique and a first for these two great musicians playing on the same tune together.
With the addition of Bryan Mitchell - producer
/ engineer at Medical Records Studio, Chicago the chemistry and timing is there
once again.
This is a long, overdue reuniting of some
great collaboration that made TRILLION what it was and still is..
The new song selections, Golden Sun Beyond and In My Blood are long pieces that grew within and still retain the originality of the TRILLION sound and style with an updated approach and execution.
The
new TRILLION project is moving forward with a timed re-release of the Clear Approach
record.
The licensed and re-mixed record by Jon Astley of the UK has been
re-released by the Rock Candy Record Company in the UK and here in the US by Trillion.
Here
in the US, there is a limited quantity of the re-mixed Clear Approach CDs
available for $25.00 US including shipping.
These CDs contain a 10 page booklet including
interview snippets and band photos.
An added bonus track, 'You Clown' was
the B side of a promotional EPIC Record's 45 single which also makes this CD package
a one of a kind masterpiece of its time.
In July of 09 I received word that the Trillion Debut album has now been licensed for re-release in the UK by Rock Candy Records . Jon Astley will re-mix the debut record. I will have these CDs through this site for purchase when they are complete.
